Grey Owl Village
One of the closest and most convenient shopping centre near our guest house is Grey Owl Village shopping centre. It is ideal for convenience shopping like groceries and toiletries, but you can also find 5 different restaurant here to choose from. You can get there in about 8 minutes by car.
Blue Hills Shopping Centre
The Blue Hills Shopping Centre is a good alternative to Grey Owl Village. It is also more suitable for convenience shopping more than anything. This shopping centre has 10 restaurants (including a Raj Express), and it is equally about 8 minutes drive away from our accommodation.
Mall of Africa
With over 300 stores, restaurants and entertainment laid out on 2.4 km length of storefronts, the Mall of Africa is probably your best bet when it comes to shopping. Not only because it is one of the largest shopping mall in South Africa, but it has all the major brand you could possible looking for.

Lory Park Zoo
The Lory Park Animal and Owl Sanctuary is an animal rehabilitation centre. Although the park was opened mainly for birds, it has grown into a mini zoo. At present, it is the accommodates about 100 different species including cats, monkeys, reptiles and a large variety of birds.

The Blue Valley Golf & Country Estate is one of the closest golf courses to our Guest House in Midrand. It is just over 9 km away, which is a 10 minutes drive (depending on traffic).
The golf course has been designed to take advantage of its natural features, yet to provide an enjoyable game, which will put you to the test. It has a championship standard 18 holes, driving range and chipping greens. The total distance of the course is 6752 meters, and has a Championship rating of 73.
Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club
The Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club is one of the oldest Golf Clubs in Johannesburg. Originally the Royal Johannesburg Golf Club was founded in 1891, and later in 1998 was merged with the Kensington Golf Club. The Club has two 18 holes Championship golf courses. The East and the West course. Both of these courses provide you with a challenging and memorable games. The East Course has a Championship layout with 18 holes, total distance of 6940 meters and a rating of 72. The West Course also has 18 holes, it is 6255 meters in distance, and has a rating of 70.
The Country Club Johannesburg
The Country Club Johannesburg is also one of the Clubs in Joburg that has been around for a long time. Other than Golf they also have facilities for Bowls, Cricket, Croquet, Gym, Mountain Bike Trails, Running, Squash, Swimming and even Tennis. The Club has two golf courses, namely the Woodmead and Rockland. Both of these are 18 hole standard golf courses that have been designed to USGA specifications.
Kyalami country Club
The Kyalami Country Club is the second most accessible and conveniently situated golf course from our B&B in Midrand. The 20km distance can be covered with a leisurely 25 minute drive. Rumor has it, that the 18 hole golf courses is one of the most difficult and challenging courses in Gauteng province. Whether you are a new or an experienced player, you will definitely enjoy the unique setting of the course.
