Booking related questions

We’ve gathered the most often asked booking related questions for you on this page. In the hope that this will help you to find answers quickly to your queries and assist with decisions before you make a reservation.

How can I book a room at your Midrand guest house?

You can book via Instant booking

Rooms can be booked directly from our website. Please look for the Book now or Book this room buttons. This will redirect you to our booking page, which is powered by NightsBridge, our booking engine.

Follow these steps to complete the reservation:

1. Choose the desired dates of your reservation
2. Then click on the “Check availability” button.
3. The following step will allow you to choose your preferred room type and the amount of room you’d like to book for.
4. Now set the number of adults and children going to stay in each room. And you can also change the meal plan from the default “Bed and Breakfast”, should you wish to have dinner as well, or room only without meals.
5. The next step is to fill out a form with your personal details, answer some booking related questions. As well as to choose your preferred payment method and except our terms and conditions of the reservation.

As soon as we have taken or received the deposit payment to secure your booking, we will send you a confirmation letter with your particulars.

Visit our contact page, where you will find our Booking Enquiry Form. In response to your enquiry, will send you an informal quotation with your booking details. Also, we will provide you with our banking details. After we received proof of payment for the deposit, we will send you a confirmation letter of your reservation.


How many people can stay in a room at your Midrand guest house?

The maximum occupancy of our rooms is 2 people.
That is either of the following options:
2 adults
2 adults + 1 infant (we provide a cot on request)
2 adults + 1 child (under the age of 3)
1 adult + 1 child
2 children (between the age of 4 – 12)

Alternatively our guest house has a family room that can accommodate the following:
4 adults – that is 2 adults (double bed) + 2 adults (King size or Twin bed)
3 adults – that is 1 adult (double bed) + 2 adults (King size or Twin bed)
2 adults + 2 children – that is 2 children under the age of 12 (double bed) + 2 adults (King size or Twin bed)

Does your room rate includes breakfast?

Yes. Our room rates advertised on our website are inclusive of breakfast price by default. However, you can also choose to book your room with other meal plan options as well.
Alternative meal plans are:
Room only
Bed and Breakfast + Dinner
Bed and Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner

How can I change my booking dates?

If you need to alter the dates of your reservation, please get in touch with us via email. We will always do our best to accommodate such requests.

However, unfortunately, we cannot alter any reservations made via Online Travel Agents (OTAs). Therefore all bookings made through these agents, such as: Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Safarinow, etc., must be amended via the channel provided by the OTA. Once the amendment has been communicated with the agent, then we can make the changes in our system.

How can I pay for my booking?

We have multiple payment methods available for you to settle for your reservation.

These include:
– Card payment
– EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer)
– Direct Deposit

You can pay by card if you make your booking by using our booking engine. Alternatively, we can also provide you with a payment request link using one of our bank’s services. Both of these payment methods enable you to make payment via credit and debit cards too in a 3D secure environment.

Whereas for EFT and direct deposit payments, we would provide you with our banking details. Then you can choose to wire the payment using an online service or make a direct deposit into our bank account at one of the bank tills.
We only require a 50% deposit to secure your reservation.


How can I cancel my booking?

Should you need to cancel your reservation due to unforeseen circumstances, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our office via email or telephone. Our Team will be more than happy to assist with your request.

Regrettably, we cannot cancel reservations made via Online Travel Agents (OTAs). Consequently, all bookings made via these agents, like: Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Safarinow, etc., must be cancelled via the channel provided by the OTA. Once the cancellation has been communicated to the agent, then they will finalize the process with our office.

What is your refund policy?

We understand that there are certain things in our lives, that we cannot control. As a result, sometimes guests have to cancel their bookings. If the circumstances allow us, we will always do our best to refund your booking fees.
However, there will be cases where we will have to keep our business in mind as well. In such cases we might have to go by our Cancellation Policy.

Can I make a booking at any time of the day?

Same day bookings
Please keep in mind, that our online reservation system has an opening and closing time for same day bookings. And our reservation office is also only open between certain hours of the day. Find out more about our reservation times.

Bookings for future dates
You can make an online reservation for future dates at any time of the day. All you need to do is to click on the ‘Book this room’, ‘Book this offer’ or ‘Check availability and Book online’ button on any of our web pages. This will redirect you to our booking engine page. To make a reservation from here is pretty straight forward. But you can also find more information about ‘instant bookings’ on this page.
However, if you prefer to make a booking via email or telephone, please make sure to contact us during our reservation times.

What are your check in times at your Midrand B&B?

Our check in times are between 14:00 – 20:00. You may find more information about our check in times on our Legal notices page.

Can I check in earlier than 14:00?

Earlier check ins have to be arranged 24 hours before arrival, and they are subject to availability. As well as an additional fee may apply.

What is the latest I can check in?

Our check in time is until 20:00. Any check ins later than that have to be arranged at least 6 hours before arrival, and they are subject to availability. Also, an additional fee may apply.

What is your check out time?

Our check out time is until 10:00 AM. There is more information about check out times on the Legal notices page.

What is the latest I can check out?

Late check-outs can be arranged. However, there will be a surcharge, and they are subject to availability. Please contact us to find out more about late check outs and the fees involved.

Does By Bush Telegraph Lodge have an hourly rate?


Unfortunately, we don’t have an hourly rate at this stage. All bookings that are made are from 14:00 until 10:00 the following morning.
